A/R recovery
A/R recovery for claims nobody got back to
Old balances get harder to collect each month. We sort yours by value and deadline, then work the ones that still have a chance of being paid.
It's free, and you can keep your current biller

What sits in an aged A/R report
Pull the 90 day column on your aging report and you'll find claims somebody meant to call about back in the spring. A few can still be collected. Some were never filed correctly, a few were paid and never posted, and others are past the payer's limit, which means they're making your report look better than your bank account.
Telling them apart is slow work, mostly phone calls and portal checks, and it's the first thing that gets pushed when the office is short a person.

What a recovery project covers
- An inventory of what's openWe separate what's collectible from what's past its limit, already paid or sitting with the wrong party.
- Prioritized follow upWe start with high value claims closest to a deadline, which won't always be the oldest ones.
- Payer follow upStatus checks, corrected claims, reconsiderations and appeals, all recorded on the account.
- Write off recommendationsIf a balance can't be collected, we show you why, and you decide whether to write it off.
How it runs
- 1
Export the report
You authorize an aged A/R report with the minimum data necessary.
- 2
Agree on what to work
We sort it by value and deadline, look at it by payer, and agree on scope with you in writing.
- 3
Work the list
We work through it and report what came back and why the rest didn't.
How this is priced
Historical A/R recovery is generally a percentage of eligible recovered amounts, where permitted, and we scope it separately from ongoing billing.

What people ask about this
How old is too old?
It depends on the payer. Medicare generally allows 12 months from the date of service to file a claim, while commercial limits vary by contract and can be much shorter. A denied claim may also have separate appeal rights.
Do you contact our patients about balances?
No, this work is about insurance balances. If anything would involve your patients, we'll agree on it with you first.
Do we need to switch billers to use this?
No. Recovery can run as its own project, even while your current biller keeps doing the day to day work.
